Pixel Advertisements

What is pixel advertising?
For those that are unfamiliar with the term pixel, a pixel is the smallest component of an image. For example, the larger number of pixels that are supported by your television or computer screen the greater the resolution (or the better the detail of the image).

Pixel advertising is a brilliant concept that originated from 21-year-old UK university student Alex Tew. In an effort to pay off his school expenses, Alex created a new concept that has revolutionized the advertising world. Alex designed a website that that allows advertisers to purchase blocks of pixels that they can use to market their company or product.

If you break it down, pixel advertising is basically the collection or grouping of pixels used to sell as advertising space. Most pixel ads consist of 100 pixel blocks that form a grid with 10,000 blocks (1 million pixels). The advertiser purchases one or more blocks to display an image representing their product. The best part of pixel advertising is that the image is linked back to the advertisers website. The website owner receives a back link to their site in addition to attracting potential customers.

Why is pixel advertising important?Unlike traditional forms of advertising, pixel sites have only one purpose and that purpose is to promote their advertisers products. Also, pixel advertising is a unique way for the advertiser to appeal to the younger crowd. Bright images, bold displays, there really should be no surprise why pixel advertising has taken off!
